My Story

Hi. I’m Amanda, and I love fabric. If you asked my husband, it's an obsession. I also love Dots Pretzels and can no longer keep gummy bears in the house because I can’t control myself.

We also love puzzles. But I mean, who doesn’t?

I make each and every pillow cover by hand.

I wish I could say that my grandmother taught me to sew. She didn’t. But what she did teach me was that I could try anything. Usually this involved crocheting LONG chains with no end in sight while As the World Turns played and the fan blew hot air around. My great-grandmother was the quilter. My great-aunt a painter. My mother famous for her ability to turn everything she touched into something special. I was raised by women who could, would, and did what it took to make their life beautiful. I had some big shoes to fill.

When my first son was born, I had this urge to make him a quilt. As if that would solidify my capabilities as a mother. I was determined. I had no sewing skills. I didn’t own a sewing machine. I had never sewn a stitch. Nothing could stop me. I bought a machine, read tons of blogs, watched endless YouTube videos, and set out to make a quilt. And I did. And it was honestly, a life changing moment. That one choice would give me life, grace, and mental health in a foreign country a few years later. It would become the start of a business. It has always been an outlet for creativity and a way for me to take time for myself.

In the years since that very first quilt, I’ve made lots of quilts, baby crib sheets, and hundreds of pillows. I’ve acquired bolts upon bolts of fabric and I found sanctuary among the threads.
