Has it been a year?

Gray Antelope Lumbar: size 14”x 26”

A year ago I made a goal to post a newsletter once a month. The first and ONLY newsletter went out June 30, 2019 and that was it. That was all I did. I am really great at coming up with ideas by the dozens, but often I find that my follow through is seriously lacking. I like to take on lots of different projects…and then rarely finish. Anyone else?

BUT - I have found myself, like the rest of the world, with more time on my hands. Because of schooling questions, and really just a strong desire to be more present for my boys, I resigned my position as a middle school teacher. I loved teaching and specifically middle school. While I am sad to leave some of the best people I have ever worked with, I am very excited to be able to spend more time with my family and make some intentional choices for The Linen Fox.

What is Giving me Life, Right Now?

Have you ever listened to Jen Hatmaker’s podcast, For the Love? She has a section at the end of each episode where she asks three questions. One of them is what is giving you life, right now? She prefaces the question with the fact that it could be something really profound, something ordinary, something silly, etc. What I love most about the question is that it could change each day. This will be a regular section for my blog/newsletter that I am excited to share with you. Trust me…most will be ordinary, but extraordinary for me!

  1. Bold Walls and Shelves

The first item that is giving me life is bold shelving and wall colors. Like make my heart skip a beat with love. If I could convince my husband to paint something really dark, I would! The dark wall with mix of light and warm furniture - and add that rug - Lord, I may swoon. But the idea is really simple. It’s the new take on an accent wall, and surely painting ONE wall dark is okay? Asking for a friend.

2. Commercial Romance Novels

Don’t judge. Or roll your eyes, okay? My brain has not been in the right place to take in heavy content. Or hard topics. Or slow plots. I need fast. Swift moving events, fairly likable characters, love, and hope. These are not Pulitzer Prize winners. But they do make the perfect book to read before bed. Fluffy and mindless, and I mean no disrespect to the author because I have flown through like 7 of them already.

3. Coffee. Always.

How do people start their day without coffee? When I was intermittent fasting for like 15 hours a day, I would start each morning with black coffee. No, I didn’t like it, but that’s all I could do. I’ve eased up a little, and now my very favorite recipe is 1c. Stok Cold Brew with 1/2 tbsp. of whipping cream. It actually tastes really good and is only 35 calories, so TECHNICALLY it still counts for IF.

Where you can find me?

Thank you so much for reading this far. I am so excited to share lots of pillow information in the future, such as how to mix patterns, pillows for different seasons, pillows for leather couches and gray couches, and so much more. Most of the topics come from questions that I get asked a lot. I hope that you are following me on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Links are at the top of the page! Over on Pinterest is where you can see all my current design inspiration! Hint: More about those dark walls!
